Gulf Shores Chinese restaurants serve a unique style of cooking that is
served by Chinese restaurants in the United States.
This new type of cooking was created for Western tastes, but
Westerners exposed only to this variety may not realize the differences with the
cuisine of China. American Chinese food treats vegetables as garnish while authentic
styles emphasize vegetables. When it is used, the Americanized dishes have western
vegetables like broccoli and carrots. Authentic Chinese cuisine would use Asian
leafy vegetables like bok choy and Gai-lan, and hold a greater emphasis on seafood.
